Rear projection provides
a number of benefits for displaying computer or video images. With
rear projection, the projector is located behind the projection
screen, this means that no one can get between the projector and
screen and therefore obstruct the image, the noise from the projector
is also minimal and the mechanics and projector are hidden from
general view. The major benefit of using rear projection lies in
the ability to have the viewing environment brightly lit without
degrading the picture brightness.
Rear projection solutions can be supplied in three basic forms;
Straight projection - where the projector is located
directly behind the screen and the normal lens of the projector
is used to display an image, the disadvantage of this is that the
projection depth required is much greater than the other methods,
Custom Rig Projection- where the projector is located
in a mechanical "Rig" with either a single mirror or twin
mirrors, this reduces the overall depth required but increases cost,
Projection Cubes - the projection module and mirror
assembly are self contained within a purpose built cabinet and are
generally free standing, these are normally available in set screen
sizes of 40", 50", 60", 70" for custom size
displays the Custom rig is normally the only available option. |
