solutions
London, UK – April 24th 2006 – e-mediavision.com
(www.e-mediavision.com) premieres the world launch of X-Tools
a range of innovative test and interface solutions. X-Tools
comprises of test and interface products aimed at Broadcast,
Audio Visual, IT and CCTV engineers and technicians.
NAB show highlights for X-Tools include the X-Tools TSG test
and signal generator DVD, Smart Lips a unique combined Photometer,
Sound Meter and off screen Audio / Video sync meter and the
Smartlips generator.
X-Tools TSG DVD provides critical video test material, with
multichannel audio in Dolby Digital and DTS formats. In one
single DVD engineers and technicians now have a simple and
cost effective means to generate test patterns and alignment
signals for line up and test of broadcast, audio visual and
consumer equipment. Test signals include production checks:-
Bars,VT clock, Pluge and Safe areas, Alignment, Greyscales,
Ramps, Flat Fields, Checkerboard and Geometry, Test and Analysis:-
Frequency burst, Zone plate and Moving lines (MPEG test),
alongside Audio signals for line up and correct set up of
Dolby and DTS decoders and audio systems. The X-Tolls TSG
DVD provides a more cost effective way to enable generation
of multiple test signals.
X-Tools Smartlips is a compact hand held Photometer, Sound
Level Meter and Off Screen Audio & Video Sync meter.
Smartlips provides a simple means to effectively measure
lip sync delays directly off the display screen using a video
flash an audio Blip markers, the unit can be used with HD
or SD systems and allows alignment of loudspeakers and displays
to international standards. The Smartlips can be used to
determine if the audio is early or late compared to the video
and thus allowing engineers to enable the correct delay in
the signal path to ensure lip sync. The reader can be used
with VT clock, TSG DVD signal markers or with the Smart Lips
generator.
The X-Tools Smartlips generator provides a visual peak luminance
flash of over 1K Cd per square meter on the integral screen
with associated 80dB SPL 2KHz audio blip at 1 meter distance.
The battery operated unit can provide over 25 days continuous
operation and is ideal for Studio or Location use.
